iTunesGHKs is a lightweight tool that allows you to control your iTunes application via keyboard hotkeys from within any other program.
Unzip it to your favourite directory and you are all set up ;)
If you want iTunesGHKs to automatically start with your windows, just create a shortcut to the iTunesGHKs.exe file in the "Startup" folder located in your Windows Startmenu.
If the program doesn't startup because it is unable to locate certain DLL-Files, you need to install the Visual C++ 2010 Runtime (s. Requirements)
After you start the program you will notice a new icon in your taskbar notification area (that icon-thingy right beside the clock at the bottom of the screen).
For the program to work, you have to set it up first.
Right click on the tray icon, and click the "Settings"-button.
In this dialog you can set up your global hotkeys.
An example configuration might be:
Play/Pause CTRL + ALT + HOME
Next CTRL + ALT + PGDOWN
Previous CTRL + ALT + PGUP
Volume Up CTRL + ALT + ARROW UP
Volume Down CTRL + ALT + ARROW Down
Toggle Shuffle CTRL + ALT + #
The "VolumeStep" options regulates the "sensitivity" of the volume up / down hotkeys
If iTunes is not running, it will be launched automatically as soon as you press a global hotkey.
To remove the program, just delete the iTunesGHKs.exe file from your harddrive.
To delete the settings of this program, you have to delete the "iTunesGlobalHotkeys" Folder,
that is stored in your windows user profile.
If you are running Windows XP, you'll find the user profile folder under:
C:\Documents and Settings\<Your username>\BinaryStudios\
If you are running Windows Vista or newer, you can find it under:
C:\Users\<Your username>\AppData\Roaming\BinaryStudios\
